The FNB Whisky Live Festival has become one of the hottest whisky and lifestyle events globally as it celebrates its 10th anniversary by adding an extra leg to the festival. For the first time since its inception, the FNB Whisky Live Festival will make its way to Durban, expanding on the already successful Cape Town and Johannesburg events.
The FNB Whisky Live Festival is a showcase of whiskies form all around the world incorporating related luxury products available to the South African market, to the event. It attracts more visitors than any other whisky and lifestyle exhibition internationally and has been growing from strength to strength due to its fresh take on the world of whisky through its unconventional exhibition style. The festival has proven to be one reason why the perception of a whisky drinker as an old distinguished man, has been broken as the market has shifted to include more women and a younger crowd.
“With the growing interest from females and the 25-35 year old age group, the festival enjoyed a footfall of over 18000 patrons last year. The decision to kick off a month earlier and include Durban in the mix was a natural progression”, says Sian Neubert, co-organiser of the festival.
The FNB Whisky Live Festival launches in Cape Town from 3 to 5 October at the Cape Town International Convention Center, then make its way to Durban from 1 to 2 November at the Durban International Convention Center and end in Johannesburg from 7 to 9 November 2012 at the Sandton Convention Center. The festival will be open between 18h00 – 22h00 daily.
