Johannesburg: The World Cup is a few weeks away and as the countdown to kick off gets ever closer, the final preparations are being made before the arrival of the participating teams and their supporters. The Southern Sun Grayston Sandton
hotel will be home to the Bafana Bafana team and their delegation for the duration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Southern Sun Grayston
hotel is expecting a delegation of about 35 to arrive at the hotel for a period of six weeks. To celebrate the arrival of the host team, the hotel is finalising preparations for a small, private function where the Diski dance will be part of the evening’s entertainment.
Myan Moodley, General Manager of the Southern Sun Grayston hotel says,”We are very proud and excited to be hosting our home team for the duration of this once in a lifetime event. And we wish them all the success and look forward to an amazing World Cup”.
The Bafana Bafana team chose this location as it is very close to their training grounds, and they are comfortable with the Southern Sun hotel brand as they stay in their various hotels when travelling around the country to participate in various games. During their stay at the hotel the security will be tightened and the hotel security team is working closely with the SA Police Services and the Local Organising Committee.
To date, there have been no special requests from the team. The hotel chef’s are liaising closely with the Bafana Bafana nutritionist to ensure that the soccer players’ diets are prepared correctly. Southern Sun Grayston
have not made any changes to the hotel as it is fully equipped to satisfy any expectations and requirements the team may have.
Southern Sun would like to wish all the teams luck with the tournament and look forward to an exciting, amazing World Cup.
