Spring is in the air and once again, during this years’ AFI Cape Town Fashion Week, Southern Sun Hotels will augment its interconnection with warmth and vitality. The hotel group will showcase some of South Africa’s most sensuous swimwear from two highly acclaimed local swimwear designers, Dax Martin and LoveWaterLove.
The show, to be held on Friday 13 August at 21h30 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, is set to dazzle as the designers’ unique Spring/Summer collections reflect Southern Sun’s association with style and vitality. “We are intimately connected with design,” says Graham Wood, Managing Director, Southern Sun Hotels. “From architecture to décor to food, our hotels reflect an amalgamation of creative ideas and trends. Our association with Dax Martin and LoveWaterLove’s swimwear constitutes an extension of this and is iconic of the warmth imbued in our sense of hospitality.”
The match is a perfect fit, particularly with the theme for this years’ AFI Cape Town Fashion Week being Refresh, Revive, Renew. “Southern Sun’s hotels constitute a platform for rejuvenation, whether for business or leisure travelers,” says Wood.
Through its participation in AFI Cape Town Fashion Week, Southern Sun’s support for local fashion design is enhancing its broader vision to facilitate growth and development locally and throughout Africa. “Although the hotel group is primarily involved with travel, our extensive footprint constitutes a catalyst to create awareness, encourage investment and build businesses.”
“The world of fashion encompasses opportunities for entrepreneurship, job creation and economic development,” says Wood. “And as a brand striving to be a leader in Africa, Southern Sun recognises the need to work in conjunction with other industries, to expose prospects and to stimulate investment so all parties can benefit.”
This year, as models strut the runway, revealing some of the hottest swimwear for the summer season, Southern Sun’s support will be spurring so much more than mere fun in the sun.
