As one of only 2 5-star hotels in Johannesburg and the first in the Sandton area on opening, this property is not only a landmark but the flagship hotel in the Southern Sun Group.

The World Travel Awards were started 15 years ago and aim to identify companies that excel in quality customer experience.

“This is a huge achievement for the hotel and we are proud to be a recipient of these prestigious awards”, says Peter Davidson, Sandton Sun’s General Manager. “Over the past 3 years we have consciously endeavoured to reposition the hotel and with further refurbishments currently underway, are continuously striving to improve our offering and solidify our place as trendsetters in the hotel industry”.

In addition to the inclusion of a new Spa in 2007, the hotel has also recently opened a Fitness Centre and plans to open 4 new meeting rooms and an Executive Lounge later this month. 2 of the 3 Presidential Suites have also been renovated, bringing them in line with the refurbishment of the rooms, suites and lobby in 2007.
